Gestational Surrogacy And Traditional Surrogacy!
When it comes to having an embryo and knowing requirements to donate eggs, it all depends on the two surrogacies viz, traditional and gestational.
Traditional Surrogacy:
In this, the surrogate uses her egg to create an embryo of the baby she is going to carry. The embryo is created either in the vitro fertilization or through the intrauterine insemination. In this surrogacy, the mother ( surrogate mother) is genetically linked to the child. The egg of the mother is combined with the father’s egg or the donor’s sperm.
In A Nutshell,
If the mother (surrogate) is linked with one of the parents, she will be considered as the genetic mother of the child, which would not be possible with the donated egg.
The intended parents who have difficulty to find the egg donor of their choice, don’t want an anonymous person as their donor or want an affordable surrogacy can opt for the traditional surrogacy.
Gestational Surrogacy:
In this, the intended parents create an embryo by using their own egg and sperm or by using the donated egg or sperm. Moreover, this type of surrogacy allows both parents of the heterosexual couple to become the biological parents of the child. Furthermore, it also minimizes the legal and emotional struggles that you might face with the surrogate for being related to the child she is carrying.
Gestational Surrogacy- In A Nutshell:
Intended parents of the child or the surrogate who are well aware of the legalities and emotions that come with the traditional surrogacy choose gestational surrogacy.
This allows many mothers to relate to their child.
Intended parents who have remaining embryos from the previous fertility treatments can use this surrogacy.
Commercial Surrogacy And Altruistic Surrogacy!
Altruistic Surrogacy: This surrogacy refers to those agreements in which the surrogate does not receive any monetary compensation. In such surrogacies, the surrogate is in very close relation to the parents (intended).
